From plan to real life

So I had an idea of what I wanted. But then other things came up. I decided to go with an AMD APU. I know. Why not Intel? But if you spend the same amount on an AMD as you would have on an Intel you'll end up with a better APU.  So here's what I came up with.

AMD A10-7870K 3.9GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper D92 54.8 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler
MOB - MSI A88X-G45 GAMING ATX FM2+ Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory
Crucial BX100 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Antec GX500 ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan
AOC e2752S 60Hz 27.0" Monitor
Logitech G300S Wired Optical Mouse
WASD V2 Blue Cherry MX Mechanical Keyboard

I used and give thanks to pcpartpicker.com for helping me find the best deals for these parts.

I have assembled everything myself. Wasn't too difficult. Thank you YouTube.com for the multitude of excellent video DIY resources.

So far I have everything for the system installed and running. I'm currently installing Gentoo. So far for this build this is the third installation. I did have some difficulties with getting the xserver and Ethernet to run and had to manually setup and compile the kernel instead of using a genkernel.  But I think I'm better for it. Right now I have the xorg server running so I know that works. I'm currently compiling kde-meta package which will contain all of kde4.

So excited!
